Pricing and billing
How aldo pricing and billing work
aldo has a single price. This guide explains how it adds up, how the free month works, how people are counted and what happens when something changes. The exact amounts, with a calculator, are on Pricing.
One price for the people who use aldo
- You pay for the people who use aldo. The first 3 share a base price; after that, each person adds a price that drops by tier.
- The more people there are, the less each one costs. Adding someone never lowers your bill.
- For more than 150 people we set a per-person price for you, with a contract and invoice. You can book a call on Pricing.
How often you pay
- You can pay monthly, every 3 months (about 10% less) or yearly (about 25% less). You can change your cycle anytime.
- The discount isn't an exact percentage: each price is rounded to the nearest ,49 or ,99. So the saving varies a little with the number of people.
- What you see per month, times the months in the cycle, is exactly what you are charged.
- If taxes apply in your country, you'll see them added before you pay.
The free month
- Every account can try aldo for a full month with everything included, no card needed. The trial belongs to the account: one time only.
- We let you know a week before it ends.
- If you choose how to pay earlier, you keep your remaining days: the first charge is the day the trial ends.
- If you don't choose how to pay, the account is locked that day, but your data stays saved.
How people are counted
- Every active person in your organization counts.
- A pending invitation doesn't count until it's accepted.
- Someone you deactivate stops counting at the next renewal. Until then their seat stays paid and you can give it to someone else at no extra cost.
- The Billing manager, the role that handles payments and who joins, doesn't pay or count.
If you add or remove someone mid-cycle
- If someone joins and there's no free seat, they pay only for the days left until your renewal.
- Those amounts are gathered into a single charge, the Seat adjustment, made once a month.
- If you remove someone, their seat stays paid until renewal.
If a payment fails
- If a renewal or an adjustment fails, we let you know and your team keeps using aldo for 7 days while you update the card.
- After that the account is locked, but nothing is deleted.
- If the first charge fails, the one attempted when the free month ends, there are no such days: the free month was already the grace period. The account is paused until you update the card and the charge goes through.
- Once you pay, you keep the same billing cycle.
Who handles payments
- The Owner, the Admins and the Billing manager can see Billing, change the cycle and update the card.
- Everyone else sees whether the account is up to date, and who to ask to sort it out if it isn't.
Canceling
- You cancel from the payments portal. Your team keeps using aldo until the end of the period you already paid for.
- Before it ends, you can reactivate it.
